Starting with….
Well, a guy has to start somewhere.
UPDATES are marked. I just found out through the logs that people are still referencing this page, so I’m going to start updating it.
Might even make it a standard page instead of a blog entry. Things have changed. Some things even changed without me knowing about them!!!
This is my first experience with blogsome.com, and we’ll see how well we treat each other.
It’s here because I see too much in technical news that I’d like to share, and people get tired of getting emails with links in them. Likewise cartoons & funnies.
For now, let’s leave it at this:
I’m Tim Ottinger
I used to work for CSC, and Object Mentor, ITW Micro-Poise (rip) and various other places (including Storen Tax Service in Brownsburg, IN). Now I’m adventuring in Linux with Progeny Linux Systems, learning new things every day… or at least several times a week.
Update: I’m back with Object Mentor doing all manner of crazy things, including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Agile Methods, design, teaching, and general consulting/contracting. It’s a busy place and I’m again a busy guy. It’s a good thing.
I was an active member of Avon Community Church of the Nazarene in Avon, Indiana, and was a locally-licensed minister (available for short fill-ins, but not done with my ordination classes).
Revision as of aug 24, 2005:
I am no longer a member of Avon Community Church of the Nazarene. I’ve transferred.
As it turns out, I didn’t realize that I had to renew my local license every year (and wasn’t told), so I was not licensed for as long as I’d thought! I’d expired without knowing it!
Yikes!
I’m in IL now, and not attending Avon or Danville Nazarene churches. “Hi” to those who are. I don’t have a regular church yet. I’m looking though. My musical instruments are lonely for a worship band.
My interests are music (worship music and jazz in particular), Bible, and Old-Time-Radio. I’ve a love for C.S.Lewis, St. Augustine, and various other Christian writers. I’m also interested in the music industry (if only it were liberated from the RIAA & big money interests) and cool gadgets and tricks. Loving gadgets and tricks, I’m also a James Bond fan (though I don’t agree with the poor morality there).
There’s hardly anything you won’t see here besides sports, mechanics, and home repair.
