Michael Kelly Guitars
I found out the Michael Kelly Guitars existed when I saw some of their lower-end stuff in guitar stores. I was reminded again when my wife went looking for a nice acoustic bass and set her heart on the Dragonfly with the transparent black finish, like this:

So I started looking around and found that it’s not the only pretty guitar. I think that the Duce Pheonix is also quite a beauty:

MKG has sound samples and many pretty pictures online. The Valor Custom looks and sounds very nice. The sound samples made it pretty enticing. I like the pickups, and they certainly do have a lot of capability for different sounds with the two coil tap switches.

I got my hands on my first Michael Kelly guitar two weeks ago,a Valor Custom. I’ve been a player for over 50 years and I’ve owned a lot of good ones. The Valor was made to fit my hand. The workmanship is a joy to see and feel. The ebony fingerboard is ALIVE from one end to the other. The pickups are warm, full and versatile with twin coiltaps to give tonal variation outside of the amp. I’m an old-timer. I play a lot of ballrooms. In a given night we play foxtrots, latin, country, rock and swing from pretty to biting edge. The Valor does it all.I am one happy cmmper.
Just for the fun of it I wrote a song years ago, Moon Over Parma that ended up on the Drew Carey Show. I just turned 70 and I’m still having fun,
