Blogging Ottinger (tim)Firefox reached 200 million (read that again) downloads in addition to who-knows-how-many installs through other agencies and shares on disk. In fact, I doubt that it counts the firefox copies shared via ubuntu and debian repositories (a HUGE source of activity) and installs from live CDs (you’d be surprised how many). So Firefox is a major, major player.
As a result, some people planned a crazy event to celebrate. I think it’s cool.
