You never know what words of “wisdom” might be archived somewhere in the world. I recently found some old discussion about type information in C++ that made me laugh. I guess it made someone else laugh too, because they saved it for posterity.

Forgive me, but every time that I read the word “widget” I get the same sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had when I was desperately trying to figure out how to retrieve data “X” from this mysterious “widget” thingy that some “expert” introduced to me.

Actually, for the first time in over five years I just this spring encountered a situation where inheritance MAY be the easy way to do something… I have not given up on doing it another way you understand.
