<description>Well, realize he doesn't mean that Microsoft is actually going out of business, only that it doesn't seem to matter anymore like it used to. I remember when the sun rose and set on Microsoft's schedule, and I think he's right that the importance of that little empire has waned.

All computer users use Macs doesn't bother me as much as a Linux user because at least the Mac is based on BSD and that's a unix system not too unlike a Linux system (just different enough to make you stumble a bit). But it is a little bit of a barb.

In my company, I think I am the only guy not using mac. I think that &quot;the cool kids&quot; have mostly converted. Never having been cool, I find it hard to get excited about it.

<description>Mr Graham reminds me of a story that I read long ago about a certain political science professor who refused to believe that Ronald Reagan had won the 1980 election in a land slide. He interviewed EVERYONE he knew and not one person would admit to having voted for Regan.
(and how could Reagan have won if no one voted for him...)

I suspect that he suffers from the &quot;Echo Chamber Effect&quot;.
RE: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Echo_chamber
(See bottom of page.)
Apparently, Mr. Graham only associates with people who refuse to use M$ products, so after a while there is no one in his sphere of influence who uses Windows. Ergo Microsoft no longer exists.

I could just as easily make the claim that Java doesn't really exist, since I have never used it, and none of my (current) co-workers have either.

I fear that he may eventually find that the rumors of M$'s death are greatly exaggerated. </description>
