Oh, I remember now… SCO is the company that claimed Linux, or parts thereof, was illegally copied from their proprietary version of Unix. That is why anyone cares.

yeah. But then they lost the fight that they owned Unix. And that parts were copied. They’ve been carrying on the lawsuit hoping to get licensing money and lawsuit support $$ form anti-linux corners for quite some time.
SCO Unix used to be a product, and people used to use it. They lost their base a while back.
