Them Crooked Vultures
John Paul Jones is the guy who knows what it means to be “heavy”. He put the “heavy” in “heavy metal” back in the Zeppelin days, and now he’s back to show the kids how it’s done.
With thick anthemic riffs, ponderously heavy drums,& soul-roasting bass, here are Them Crooked Vultures:

The video for the second one made me a little dizzy so I turned it off. Then I had to come back and listen to the third one. That is some crunchy goodness.

The first two sound like out-takes from old Led Zeppelin songs.
I may be getting old, but color me unimpressed.

Yeah, that second one is a little on the seizure-inducing side. And why is there a pot of baked beans just before 0:25?

I’ve always found Zeppelin to be very impressive, even to this day. I still get a chill listening to their old stuff. I guess I’m not looking for “new” as much as I’m looking for that JPJ heavy riff-driven stuff.
